TRASH CAN TRANSFORMATION - 2017
(Stay tuned for information for 2018!)
Details for Trash Can Transformation:
Individuals and teams should submit for review their trash can art designs by email or U.S. mail. See address below. All submissions must be received no later than 12 noon on Friday, Sept. 15. There are a limited number of trash cans available and artists will be accepted in order of submission date.
Artists may be amateur or professional, children, youth, or adults. Artists are encouraged to paint, sculpt, and use other means to create their trash can art designs live, in the park, between 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 30, during the 2017 Waxahachie Chautauqua.
Paint and other materials used in each trash can art project should be durable, safe, and weatherproof in order to withstand the elements of the outdoors and wear and tear from use. Artists should provide their own art supplies.
In addition, the design – and the materials used to create the design – cannot present a hazard of any kind to surrounding plants, wildlife, and visitors of the park. All designs must also be family-friendly and appropriate.
The designs will cover new trash cans in Getzendaner Park. The event may expand to include trash cans in other Waxahachie City parks, depending on the number of design submissions received and the number of available trash cans.
Participating artists will be recognized in various media, including the Waxahachie Chautauqua website, newsletter, and Facebook page.
For consideration, please submit your designs to info@WaxahachieChautauqua.org or Chautauqua Preservation Society, P.O. Box 126, Waxahachie, TX 75168. Please include the following in your submission:
