The Chautauqua Lighting Project (2012)
The Chautauqua Preservation Society will be able to complete a major foundation goal in 2012, thanks to the Waxahachie Foundation $6,000 grant, which allows us to continue the Society’s mission to restore, preserve and maintain the beautiful Chautauqua building by installing exterior lighting on the building.
The Chautauqua exterior lighting project is underway.
Estes Electric, a local electrical repair and install company, has been selected and has been given the green light to proceed.
After much consideration, Estes has devised a plan to replace the exterior lights with new LED fixtures that will use less electricity, last a long time and look as “period” as possible. Additionally, lights over the stage doors will be installed and a light illuminating the foot bridge will shed light on an area of safety concern.
It has been a long journey for this project. However, our patience will be rewarded. The fixtures that will be used are superior to the items proposed early on and cost savings have been found.
